OFFICE OF THE PROVINCIAL TREASURER

| MISSION | : | The Provincial Treasurer’s Office shall assist in enhancing the financial capability of the LGU within the framework of National Government policies; evaluating the fiscal performance of the Municipal Government against a set of standard measuring the delivery of basic services; economic strategies adopted and implemented; sound fiscal practices; and financial viability. |
With the advent of RA 7160 otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1991 it brings greater changes in the local governance, when it took effect on January 1, 1992.
The Role of the Local Treasurer on the functions of financial advise, fund management, sourcing, collection, custody and disbursement of funds. Maintain and update tax information system of the local government unit, inspect private commercial and industrial establishment within the jurisdiction of the local government unit concerned in relation to the implementation of tax ordinances, pursuant to the provision under Book II of the Code’ exercise technical supervision over all local treasury offices of competent cities and municipalities. To be able to meet these roles Provincial Tax Ordinance No. 1 series of 2002 have been approved and effected on July 1, 2002.
