Quirino Province to Utilize LGPMS Results

The LGPMS Teams of Quirino Province exerted a cohesive effort in the formulation of its Annual Report which comprised the State of Local Governance Performance Report (SLGPR) and the State of Local Development Report (SLDR) with an add-on which is the LGU Scorecard on Health Report and the Local Tourism Statistics Analysis.
In a writeshop conducted on April 24-25, 2013 at Hotel Supreme, Baguio City, the LGPMS Teams were able to realize their aim to Formulate the Annual that is participatory in nature or thru team approach . The idea emanated from the suggestions of the LGU-LGPMS Focal Persons which centered on the concept of pooling the idea of the LGPMS Team in one venue for a dynamic accomplishment. The convergence of ideas of various sector representatives and LGPMS writers resulted to a genuine and truthful report reflecting the actual situation, needs, problems and strengths of the LGUs.
Fifty eight participants shared common interests and discussed various problems encountered, hence maximizing each participant’s expertise in dealing with different challenges confronting LGPMS—both the system and its program implementation.
With this, the Provincial Government and the six municipal LGUs attained a consentious narrative report on the data gathered and expounded the data generated in a customize analysis fitting to the actual LGU scenario which is formed part of the LGU’s Annual Report.
Passing through several processes, the LGPMS generates information that are useful in policy and program development, both at the local and national government levels which is very important to the LGUs in monitoring their performance and in assessing the state of development for the purpose of influencing local decisions and addressing development gaps in the locality.
Various LGPMS versions had been created—from LGPMS solo to LGPMS V2.1 which will eventually evolved into LGPMS V3 this year; yet, this Department still finds it very helpful to advocate the utilization of the information generated from the system to make an impact on the local governments as it pursues its mandate of supporting the capacity development of the LGU’s towards development.
With all the narrative and analysis in place, all LGUs pledged their commitment to utilize the reports for its advancement, first, by communicating results to the stakeholders and ultimately, to utilize end results in the planning and budgeting processes.
